Fall is here!!
Fall in Kentucky can be interesting. Just last Friday night we sat through a monsoon at the high school football game. Prior to that we have not had measurable rainfall in weeks. One day in early fall the temperatures could be in the 90s and the next day in the 50s. It is true what they say about Kentucky weather, if you do not like today’s weather, stick around another day because you are bound to see something much different!
Our weather is constantly changing, our world is constantly changing, but one thing about our Lord is He does not change.
Hebrews 13:8 reminds us, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
1 John 4:9-12 tells us, “In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.”
The Scriptures remind us that God loved us enough to send His Son into this world to die for us. We know that love has not changed. Christ still loves each of us the same as He did when He hung upon the cross.
Like Kentucky weather, we do not have to wait around to see if there is a change. We have the assurance that Christ loved us yesterday, He loves us today, and He will love us tomorrow. What a wonderful promise to hold onto.
My encouragement to you is to share this good news withothers around you. Only the Gospel of Jesus Christ can bring peace into a chaotic, ever-changing world. Let the love of Christ that flows through you be a constant source of strength for those around you.
God Bless, Pastor Jeff
