November 2022 Pastor’s Note

Thanksgiving is just around the corner, and it’s the perfect time of year to pause and give thanks to the Lord for all of His blessings.

How do you say thank you for all the Lord provides?

It can at times be difficult to find the right words.

The good thing is, we can turn to the Bible for Psalms about Thanksgiving to help us express the gratitude we are feeling.

The Psalms and other Bibles verses about being thankful remind us of the joy and love we have in our hearts, and to give praise and thanks to the Lord.

One of my favorites is Psalm 100. Verse 4 reminds us to,

“Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, And into His courts with praise. Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.”

This Psalm captures the essence of praising God for His greatness and power.

Psalm 30 ends with:

"You have turned my mourning into joyful dancing. You have taken away my clothes of mourning and clothed me with joy, that I might sing praises to You and not be silent. Oh Lord my God, I will give You thanks forever!"

Not just during the month of November as we celebrate the Thanksgiving Holiday, BUT every day! “I will give You thanks forever!”

Praise Jesus every day of your life. Give Him the glory He deserves daily. Make it a natural priority by meditating daily on all the Lord has done for you. When you consider the grace you have freely received, gratitude will pour out of your heart naturally.

The end of Psalm 100 reminds us,

“The Lord is good; His mercy is everlasting, And His truth endures to all generations.”

Thank you Lord for being sogood to us! Thank you Lord for your everlasting mercy! Thank you Lord that you have extended your truth to all generations, all people, especially to sinners like me!

I look forward to celebrating the Thanksgiving Holiday with you all here at Calvary Baptist Church. I pray each of you have a blessed holiday season.

In Christ, Pastor Jeff
