Bro. Jeff Grimes
Pastor

I answered the call to be the full-time pastor of Calvary in July of 2016.  I had served as the Associate Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church since 2011.  I have my under-graduate degree from Western Kentucky University and a Master of Divinity from Liberty Theological Seminary. My prayer is that Calvary will make disciples of Christ that will go out into the world seeking to expand the Kingdom of God.

Bro. Butch Morris
Associate Pastor

I accepted the position of Associate Pastor of Calvary Baptist Church in October of 2017 after serving 15 years as Senior Pastor at two previous churches. I surrendered to the call into ministry in 1991. I have served in various capacities in the church and associational positions. God has led me into a different phase in my service for Him at Calvary as the Associate Pastor. I also teach a Men's Sunday School class in addition to other classes to help equip God's people for service to Him. I enjoy the opportunity to share the Gospel message not only in group settings but also in one on one conversations with those in need of a personal relationship with Jesus. The most important part of my ministry, now I feel, is connecting with people to let them know they are important not only to myself and to the church but most of all important to God!

Lilly Hunter
Student Minister

I accepted the call to be full-time Student Minister in 2020. I hold a Bachelor of Science from the University of Kentucky and am pursuing a Master of Divinity from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I seek to bring glory to the Lord as I serve the students in love! Our Student Ministry motto is: Love God, Love Others, Make Disciples which comes from the Great Commandment (Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Matthew 22:38-39) and the Great Commission (Matthew 28-18-20).
Love God
We do this by learning to study the Word of God (Psalm 119) and deeply knowing the person of Jesus Christ

Love Others
We seek to fellowship with other believers and to cultivate the bond of a family by having all things in common (Acts 2:44)

Make Disciples
We train in and practice evangelism in our school, community, and to the unreached people groups around the globe (Acts 1:8)

Bro. Stephen Newman
Minister of Education and Discipleship

I am Stephen Newman.  I am a member of Calvary Baptist Church, along with my wife Leslie, daughter Alicyn and son Josiah. I very much enjoy teaching the "Sanctuary" Sunday School Class, as we have a variety of topics.  I am also involved with Church Education especially the area of apologetics, the defense of the Gospel. I love discussing issues with the young people and teens.  Occasionally, I am also a speaker.

The most important thing in my life is that I recognize daily the spiritual war that goes on, not only with me but all around me. It is of upmost importance that I should daily try to take up my cross and follow him, Jesus Christ, the Creator and Redeemer of mankind. To him, the Living Word that gave us His Written Word, belongs all praise, blessings, glory, and honor.

Leslie Sanders
Minister of Music

Our music ministry at Calvary is built on two key passages of scripture:

“Yet a time is coming and has now come when the true worshipers will worship the Father in the Spirit and in truth, for they
are the kind of worshipers the Father seeks.”  John 4:23

“[S]peaking to one another with psalms, hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.”
                Ephesians 5:19

The passage in John makes it clear that it isn’t just about the singers, the music, the instruments, etc.  It’s about the worshipers!  We hope that our music ministry aids the worshipers to truly worship the Father.  In Ephesians, we learn that the early church used a variety of songs in their worship. At Calvary, all types of music are welcomed and encouraged as long as they glorify God.

We have choirs for every age group.  Our pre-school choir is Play-N-Praise and it is under the direction of Leslie Newman.  We have a sanctuary choir that is for all ages and it is under the direction of Leslie Sanders.  We also have a youth praise band known as PB&J (“Praise Band Junior”) and an adult praise band.  Choirs rehearse on Sundays at 5:00.  The praise bands generally practice two-three times per month.

We would love for you to join our music ministry as we exalt His name together!

Sissie Lumpkin
Church Secretary

I have been on staff at Calvary since May of 2017.  I, along with my husband Mel and grandson Gabriel moved to Franklin from South Florida to be closer to our family.  I have fallen in love with Kentucky and the members of Calvary Baptist Church, who have so graciously welcomed me into their loving church family.

"Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God."   Romans 15:7
